Kids and Families

Feel free to bring your kids to the Nordic House. We love having children visit and often host concerts, theatre, and other activities specifically for them. Here is some information for those of you planning to visit with children.

Events
We often specify the age group our children’s and family events are aimed at. If you're unsure whether an event is suitable for children, please feel free to call our reception. Remember, children need a ticket, regardless of the event.

Sunflower Lanyard
If your child has an invisible disability and might need extra assistance or patience, you are welcome to wear the sunflower lanyard, which can be picked up at the reception.

Family-Friendly Café
At Café Systrar, there's plenty of space and a relaxed atmosphere. The healthy smoothies, shakes, and delicious Saturday brunches are particularly popular with families. Many children enjoy drawing at the table. If the creative urge arises, you are welcome to pick up paper and (sanitized) pencils at the reception. You can also borrow games and books for your visit.

Fun and Play
The Nordic House is an exciting place with lots to see and touch and plenty of space for play. However, we also frequently host art exhibitions and display artworks that we care deeply about, and adult visitors may be working or holding business meetings. Therefore, children must be supervised, and we expect activities like running, shouting, and climbing to take place outside the house. Our grass areas are great for playing and burning off energy.

Strollers
Our wooden floor is somewhat delicate and unfortunately not suitable for strollers. However, you can easily keep an eye on your stroller from the café if you leave it outside to the right of the entrance. You are also welcome to park it in our outdoor courtyard, which is closer if, for example, you are attending a maternity talk in Skálin.

Changing Tables
We have changing tables on both floors in the accessible toilets. We kindly ask that you use these when changing your child.

Breastfeeding
You are welcome to breastfeed wherever you like in the house.

Kindergartens and Schools
If you arrive as a large group, for example, to eat packed lunches, we recommend that you call in advance to ensure there is enough space.

We look forward to seeing you at the Nordic House.
